Sanitation and Hand Washing
Disinfecting remains a vital part of reducing the spread of sickness. Washing hands can prevent the spread of respiratory infection from one person to the next. Prevent sickness by:

- Cleaning and disinfecting your cell phone
- Laundering items using the warmest appropriate water setting and dry completely
- Using proper cough and sneeze hygiene and throw used tissue in trash
You can help yourself and your loved ones by washing your hands often or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, especially during these key times when you are likely to get and spread germs:
- Before, during, and after preparing food
- Before eating food
- Before and after caring for someone at home who is sick
- Before and after treating a cut or wound
- After using the toilet/changing diapers
- After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
- After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste
- After handling pet food or pet treats
- After touching garbage
- After contact with frequently touched surfaces
