The Kendall County Health Department (KCHD) is reporting three deaths, all females in their 80s. We express such sorrow for their families. As of today, we have 335 cases of coronavirus disease (COVID19), 165 in-recovery, and 12 deaths.

Mail and Parcel Delivery Drivers

As a mail and parcel delivery driver, potential sources of exposure include having close contact with co-workers, customers, and frequently touched surfaces. Please consider these precautions when handling mail and parcels:

• Stay home when you or a loved one in your household is sick
• Wear a cloth face covering while handling/delivering mail and parcels
• Conduct “contactless” deliveries, whenever possible
• When needing to speak to customers during delivery, always maintain a distance of 6 feet or more
• Limit contact with frequently touched surfaces during deliveries, such as doorbells or door handles
• Avoid sharing scanners, pens, or other work instruments with the customer
• Consider wearing machine-washable work gloves
•  If you are wearing work gloves, do not touch your face with gloved hands
• At the end of the work shift, remove the gloves, and wash your hands
• When doing laundry, wash gloves using the warmest appropriate water setting and dry completely
• Frequently touched surfaces should be disinfected before and after each shift
• Use proper cough and sneeze hygiene
• Wash hands with soap and water or disinfect your hands with sanitizer before and after work shifts, work breaks, making deliveries from drop-boxes and customer pick-ups, and pumping gas
