The Kendall County Health Department (KCHD) is reporting new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID19), new recoveries, and we are saddened to report one death of a male in his 70s. We wish every comfort for his family. As of today, our total cases are 232, we have 123 in-recovery and a total of 7 deaths.

Senior Apartment Living

The following actions are especially important because many who reside in senior apartment buildings are older adults who may have cardiovascular, diabetic, respiratory, immunocompromised, or other complex health conditions:

  • Always keep your living space clean and disinfected
  • Always wear a cloth face covering when outside of your apartment
  • Avoid sharing the elevator and stair well with others
  • Wash hands before and after having been in common areas, such as laundry room or mail
  • Wash hands before and after touching doorknobs, buttons and banisters
  • Always social distance from others, at least 6 feet
  • Create and practice alternative methods of social interaction with family and friends
  • Avoid running errands if you or a household member are sick or have symptoms of COVID-19
  • Communicate with your primary care physician’s office by telephone
  • Avoid receiving visitors, unless the visitor is providing an essential service

It is important today, more than ever that everyone works together to ensure all of our senior apartment residents are safe.
