Phase 1b Vaccination Begins
Today, the State of Illinois will begin Phase 1b COVID-19 vaccinations. Kendall County Health Department finished vaccinating most residents in Phase 1a, while beginning to vaccinate those in Phase 1b last week. Phase 1b incudes adults ages 65+ and frontline essential workers. Kendall County Health Department will be prioritizing those in Phase 1b by; First Responders, Adults ages 65+, and Educators/Day Care Centers. All other essential workers will be scheduled as vaccine supply increases over the next few months.
Currently, we are scheduling vaccine appointments from the responses received on the Phase 1b survey for our priority groups. Soon, we will be asking residents to visit our website and register for your own appointment day and time. Appointments will fill up fast, but new slots will be added frequently so we will encourage people to check back often. Please note, until the vaccine supply from the federal government increases, vaccination appointments will be scarce, so we ask that people continue to be patient.
It is the goal of the Health Department to get the vaccine distributed as quickly as possible. We are partnering with many private/public entities and community volunteers to make this happen. We will be successful in this massive effort, but only through cooperation, partnership, and patience.
Thank you for your continued trust in Kendall County Health Department, and for all you are doing personally to protect yourselves, your families, and our communities from COVID-19.
