The Kendall County Health Department (KCHD) is reporting new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID19) and new persons in recovery, bringing the total cases to 120 and in-recovery to 54.
People with moderate to severe asthma may be at higher risk of complications from COVID-19. COVID-19 can affect your respiratory tract (nose, throat, lungs), can contribute to an asthma attack, and possibly lead to pneumonia and acute respiratory disease.
- Keep your asthma under control by following your personal asthma action plan
- Continue your current medication
- Discuss any concerns about your treatment with your healthcare provider
- Talk to your healthcare provider, insurer, and pharmacist about creating an emergency supply of prescription medications, such as asthma inhalers
- Know how to use your inhaler
- Avoid your asthma triggers
- Onset of intense emotion can trigger an asthma attack, take proactive steps to address stress and anxiety
The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. To avoid exposure; clean your hands often, avoid close contact with others, cover coughs and sneezes, disinfect all frequently touched surfaces, and wear a cloth face cover when away from home and not able to ensure social distancing.
